Senior Powertrain Systems Engineer

Join the Powertrain Team based in Bristol as a Senior Powertrain Systems Engineer and help us to achieve our mission of pioneering electric aviation.What success will look like, as a Senior Powertrain Systems Engineer?As a Senior Powertrain Systems Engineer, you will cultivate in-house expertise and develop deep knowledge of the Powertrain systems development. You will be responsible for delivering the development strategy for the Powertrain systems lifecycle, from requirements to qualification, including integration, verification, and validation activities. We'll need you to take ownership of stakeholder requirement capture, analysis, and management, and drive forward development, optimization, and advocacy of a consistent systems engineering approach within the Powertrain Department.Additionally, you'll conduct safety assessments based on ARP4761 and support risk reduction efforts. We'll need you to define our verification & validation approach to support our VX4 certification, while leading collaborative relationships across Powertrain to perform system and sub-system integration testing and identify crucial Powertrain performance factors.What would we like you to bring.We want you to be successful in your role, and to achieve this, you will need a relevant engineering degree or equivalent demonstrable relevant career experience. You'll need demonstrable experience in Systems Engineering (aerospace experience preferred but not mandatory) with proven experience working on different parts of the Systems Engineering lifecycle. Ideally, but not essentially, you'll have worked across a Certification program, with experience in implementing certification aerospace standards such as ARP4754B, ARP4761, SC VTOL, and SC E-19, collaborating with both internal Airworthiness and external Authorities.You'll be required to interface with various cross-functional teams and individuals, you will therefore need excellent communication and relationship-building experience, along with examples of influencing others.We're on a mission.
