Join the Powertrain Team based in Bristol as a Hybrid Powertrain Modelling Engineer and help us to achieveour mission of pioneering electric aviation.What success will look like for you, as a Hybrid Powertrain Modelling Engineer?As a Hybrid Powertrain Modelling Engineer, you will play a key part developing a brand new Hybrid Powertrain concept we are designing alongside our Electric Powertrain.You would take ownership of delivering hybrid powertrain performance models, and running analysis related to the performance of the different architectures, including business case studies during the concept development phases. This covers the development of component models for all component of a hybrid powertrain, as well as relevant control logic, in Matlab/Simulink/Simspace. You will also support validation and testing activities to verify model accuracy and system performance.Your primary relationships would sit with the Electric Power Unit and Battery Teams.What would we like you to bring.We want you to be successful in your role, in order to achieve this, you will need to have proven experience developing mathematical models, a deep understanding of power electronics, motor control and power distribution systems as well as a high level of proficiency in modelling and simulation tools, such as Matlab programming Simulink and Simscape modelling skills. A master’s degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace engineering, or related field is a must for this role. Ideally you will have gained this experience from either Aerospace or Automotive sectors, although we are open to alternative industry experience.What can you expect from us?We're on a mission.
