We are currently looking for a highly skilled and experienced Private Credit Portfolio Manager to join the Private Markets Investments team where you will play a critical role in shaping and executing our investment strategies focusing on focusing on Private Credit investments.Based in Wolverhampton, the successful candidate will report to the Head of Private Markets. You will work with your peers in the Private Markets team to continue the growth of the Private Credit function. Specific responsibilities will include working on investing Private Credit funds and making direct investments. you will also be managing the existing investment portfolio which is expected to grow over the next few years. You will contribute to a rigorous culture of high performing, collaborative, research based and responsible investing across the Investment team.About UsLGPS Central Limited is an FCA regulated asset manager and manages the pooled assets of eight midlands-based Local Government Pension Scheme funds.LGPS Central’s Partner Funds are:LGPS Central is owned equally by all eight of its Partner Funds and is dedicated to the management of local government pension assets. The Company moved to new premises at i9, Wolverhampton Interchange in January 2022, close to local transport links.Key Responsibilities:Management of the c£2.5bn Private Credit portfoliosDevelop and deliver innovative Private Credit strategies which meet the needs of the Partner Funds, keeping strategies under review considering market developments.Origination, analysis, due diligence, legal review and negotiation (working with internal and external counsel), execution, and post-execution active monitoring and management of primary fund and direct co-investments.Present new transactions to the LGPS Central Investment Committee for approval.Participate actively in the Private Markets Investment Committee (PMIC), overseeing and advising on investment portfolios, contributing to the investment strategy of the pool, devising, and delivering transparent and repeatable investment processes which meet the investment targets of the Partner Funds.Act as the LGPS Central representative on IACs of external funds, where relevant.Lead the development of future funds to be launched by LGPS Central.Act as an ambassador for LGPS Central, for example through attendance or speaking at relevant conferences.Follow the manager selection, appointment, monitoring and reporting frameworkManage risk and compliance in accordance with the Risk and Compliance Framework.Work with the Responsible Investment & Engagement team to review and analyse ESG risks for any primary fund and direct co-investments.Provide assurance to the CIO that the Private Debt portfolio is managed within the parameters set in the Prospectus and the IMA.Champion a rigorous culture of high performing, collaborative, research-based investing across LGPS Central.Line Management and development of the Private Credit Team Skills/Knowledge/Experience/Competence: Significant experience of collaborative investment decision making at a senior level, ideally in an FCA regulated environment.Experience in Private Credit investments productsCan evaluate performance and risk of investment portfolios objectively.Experience of contributing to policies on the selection of investments, portfolio construction, and portfolio monitoring and reporting.Direct experience of successfully managing investment portfolios.Able to evaluate performance and risk of investments and investment portfolios objectively.Experience of successful management and development of high performing teams.High degree of professional ethics, integrity and gravitas.Excellent judgement and analytical skills.First class interpersonal, people management and communication skills.Qualifications:Degree level or equivalent.Has or can meet all the requirements of being a FCA approved person.What do we offer?We are a diverse and forward-looking employer and are members of the Employers Network for Equality and Inclusion.
