We have an exciting opportunity for a Podiatrist with a keen interest in developing their MSK knowledge and skills to be part of an MSK focused Podiatry team being created within the East area of BCUHB. NHS post registration experience is required, and as well as being a key part of the MSK team, you will also be working independently in both community and acute settings, providing a high standard of quality clinical care. Although the main opportunities and primary focus of the role will be MSK development there will also be some general Podiatry input required.Main duties of the job You will work as an autonomous practitioner, being professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of your own work including management of all service users in your care. To make appropriate judgements on and be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of podiatric care of your patient caseload. These will predominately be service users with complex medical and clinical needs including:
MSK Podiatry Diabetes Chronic neuropathy Chronic disease Rheumatoid arthritis Vascular insufficiency Wound management/tissue viability Terminally ill service users
Care will be provided in a range of primary and secondary care settings, the majority of which will be in isolation, without the support of podiatry colleagues, working as a single handed practitioner. Supervision will be largely self driven through attendance at departmental briefings and supervision meetings and through seeking the advice of peers.
