Senior Planning Officer

A senior position has come available within the Planning and Development division of an organisation based in Exeter, on a five month temporary contract to support on planning applications.
The position as a Senior Planning Officer would primarily involve managing a caseload of planning applications, which may include householder applications; small majors; minors; and discharge of conditions.
Responsibilities would further include:

• Processing a high volume of planning applications
• To oversee junior planning officers and ensure that they are working to the approved planning policies
• Offering planning advice related to the preparation of Local Development Documents
• To negotiate improvements, agree solutions and S106 Contributions
• Acting as Development Manager when managing major applications
• Presenting the relevant reports to committees and stakeholders

This position offers an excellent pay rate, and would have the opportunity to go on site visits.
