Company: Quarryplan is an independent consultancy providing specialist planning and property advice to the minerals, waste management and renewable energy sectors. As the leading specialist Mineral Consultancy in Northern Ireland, the Quarryplan Team have an outstanding track record and reputation for offering quality planning advice to clients in Northern Ireland as well as throughout the UK and Ireland. In response to workload and new projects from a range of clients, we are seeking to recruit an additional member to the team.
Location: Based in Crossgar, Co. Down, the work will be mainly office-based but will also involve visiting various site/project locations and therefore a full UK driving licence and the ability to travel is essential throughout the UK, Ireland and further afield, when required.
Role: Quarryplan is seeking a Senior Planning Consultant on a full time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will be joining the senior team, providing high quality planning consultancy advice to a range of clients. The role will include:
Management of Mineral, Waste and Renewable planning projects
Project costing and budgeting;
Local Development Plan Representations;
Planning Appeals and Enforcement;
Production and coordination of Environmental Impact Assessments;
Review and comment on technical reports;
Company Representation at planning committees and public consultation events;
Business development and Strategic Planning
Developing new and existing client relationships.

The opportunity will offer you the opportunity to work with a range of clients with an excellent in-house training programme and external CPD activities to enhance your skills and knowledge. With future growth planned for the coming years, this role will develop further and provide you with the opportunity to progress within the business.
Requirements: You will be required to be educated to degree level or hold a relevant planning/surveying qualification and a good knowledge of town planning legislation, policies, and procedures. The candidate will be a full member of the RTPI/RICS (or equivalent body). A minimum of five year’s relevant post qualification experience through industry, consultancy or the public sector is necessary.
This role requires confident written and verbal communication to deliver planning advice.
The candidate will be self-motivated with excellent communication and problem solving skills, proven experience and the ability to manage a range of projects adhering to deadlines, and delivering high-quality results.
Salary & Benefits:
£30,000 - £40,000 will be offered commensurate with the candidate’s experience, qualifications and ability.
