UBT are currently working with an established family run SME business based in Bedford. They are a specialist town planning consultancy business with over 40 years of experience providing services including planning applications, appeals, enforcement assistance, law development certificate, local plan representation, feasibility studies and site appraisals for residential and commercial clients. They work with building contractors, builders, architects to support the planning application for residential/commercial projects across the UK. The role would include undertaking independent research, problem solving, liaising with a wide range of clients and members of the public, among others and the ability to present a case clearly and concisely, in either an office or public setting. The ideal candidate would have worked with local authorities and businesses to find workable solutions to help with appeals of planning applications. There is excellent opportunity to progress within the business to potential partner status, therefore would well suit an individual who’s looking to take their experience/skills to carve a future within an already established well known and reputable business.
[ Requirements ]
•At Planner and Senior Planner level, you will have worked within a planning context in the public or private sectors.
•You will be experienced in leading on a range of projects.
•You will need to have 5+ years experience and strong project management skills, as you may be expected to take on and manage major and minor jobs (with Partner assistance).
•Planners from a public or private sector background are encouraged to apply.
•Experienced in liaising with Local Planning Authorities and statutory consultees together with up-to-date knowledge and understanding of current planning legislation.
•Ability to work under pressure and often to tight deadlines.
•Strong verbal/oral communication skills, able to identify key issues and appropriate and effective tactics.
•Strong IT and database skills.
•Strong organisation skills.
•Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel in the UK.
