As a Senior Network Engineer at White Swan Data, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure to ensure low-latency, high-performance systems. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving the success of our strategies and maintaining our competitive edge.Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and implementation of network solutions utilising HPE/Aruba switches and Netgate pfSense firewall technologies.
Manage OpenVPN server, ensuring all clients are connected securely, issuing certificates and revoking them.
Configure and optimise network devices, including switches, routers, and firewalls, to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.
Proactively identify and resolve network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum network availability.
Implement and maintain robust network security measures, including access control lists (ACLs), firewall policies, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
Monitor network performance and capacity utilisation, and develop strategies to accommodate future growth and scalability.
Maintain comprehensive network documentation, including network diagrams, configuration files, and inventory records. Generate regular reports on network performance and security.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT support, systems administrators, and software developers, to support the organisation's technology infrastructure.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering roles.
Extensive experience with HPE/Aruba switches and Netgate pfSense firewall.
In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, VLANs, STP, OSPF, and SNMP.
Extensive experience with OpenVPN, IPSEC and BGP
Experience with AWS, GCP, AZURE is a plus
Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
Experience with network monitoring and management tools, such as Wireshark, Nagios, and SolarWinds.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members
