The role
We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join the Group Technology Platform Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical input to the design and operation of ITV’s networks. The role will be predominantly focussed on project delivery of network infrastructure projects that aim to optimise the performance, reliability, investment and operating costs of ITV’s network infrastructure.
The role will entail but not be limited to:
Working on multiple implementation projects at any one-time, balancing the needs of those by prioritisation and stakeholder management.
Preparing low-level network designs in line with high level designs specified by Network Architects.
Creating, maintaining and reviewing operational and technical design documentation
Drafting technical requirements for ITV third party delivery partners
Conducting detailed analysis of network performance statistics using a variety of tools.
Producing implementation scripts, test plans and change controls for all network changes.
Building network infrastructure, test and deployment of network changes.
Driving Operational and User Acceptance testing, as appropriate, with different user groups and areas of the business; to ensure functional and nonfunctional requirements have been delivered.
Having an ability to dive into the detail - for example in analysing and improving the Wireless experience by reviewing incident & problem data and identifying trends/causes/configuration changes as appropriate.
Providing ad hoc third-line support and subject matter expertise to resolve complex problems.
Engage with other ITV technical teams to drive through network changes that require their support
Keeping the project manager informed of progress against plan and raise risks and issues as required
Skills you’ll need
(minimum criteria)
Network design, implementation and administration experience
Experience working with Microsoft Visio
Experience of working with a number of the following: -
Cisco router platforms and switches including Nexus;
Wireless Infrastructure and Monitoring capability - either Cisco or Meraki platform;
Firewalls such as Palo Alto, NSX & Cisco;
SASE / Zero Trust solutions such as Zscaler;
SD-WAN technologies such as Meraki
Strong understanding of EIGRP, BGP, OSPF and IP multicast
Network monitoring and management tools such as Solarwinds, Orion, Cisco Prime, Cisco DNAC & IPAM toolsets.
Qualifications:
CCNP or equivalent certification

An understanding of the broadcast environment
Strong communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships
Ability to influence and relay information to senior team members confidently
