About the Opportunity
Our client is the Design andEngineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and ProjectPartners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver ~£7bn of major projects. Weare looking to recruit high value expertise from across regulated andcomparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is deliveringmajor projects, site wide improvements and provision of supportingservices.
The Sellafield Productand Residue Store Retreatment Plant (SRP),
being delivered by the Programme andProject Partners (PPP),
will safely receiveall special nuclear material packages fromexisting storage locations across the Sellafield site before retreating theminto new 100-year packages for safe storage. The SRP facility will enable allspecial nuclear material to remain safe and secure in its store into the nextcentury and beyond and therefore plays a key role in delivering Sellafield’spurpose to create a clean and safe environment for future generations.
We are looking for an innovative andenthusiastic Senior Mechanical Engineer who would like to get involved indesign from concept to completion, with an aptitude for problem solving and indeveloping less experienced mechanical discipline engineers and designers. Therole will likely involve the management and leadership of a small group ofengineers to deliver required technical outputs to meet business need.
Oversight of the production ofengineering drawings to BS8888. Act as principal drawing and designchecker/approver as required in line with internal design drawing process
Development of technicalspecifications to meet program and customer needs
Assist the development of theengineering elements of the project/task baseline scope, schedule andbudget for multi-discipline delivery
Support development of teammembers and progression of engineering competency within the section,including development of career plans, annual objective setting andidentification of training needs Requirements Educated to degree level inmechanical engineering
Professionally accredited toIEng/CEng or working towards this level of professional registration
Proficient in detailed drawing production& checking to relevant drawing standards BS8888, BS5070 and BS EN61082
Experience of using relevantsoftware packages (Inventor/SolidWorks/AutoCAD/Vault packages)
