Senior Mechanical Engineer
Due to increasing the mechanical engineering team continuing expansion into existing, and exciting new markets a Senior Mechanical Engineer is required a by leading supplier of complex bespoke testing solutions to many of the world's leading aerospace,
car, and automotive companies. As an experienced dynamic SME you will provide pivotal input to product development in a highly bespoke / one-of-a-kind dynamic environment.
Reporting to the Engineering Director, you will lead a pool of mechanical engineers of varying experiences, as well as providing technical expertise in new product development. The successful candidate is likely to assume the role of Engineering Manager subject to a short qualifying period.
Essential experience
Experience of managing complex engineering projects through full life cycle, from initial proposal to production release, assembly, installation, and commissioning.
Experience of working with Project Managers, ensuring projects are on plan and employing corrective actions when necessary and within project parameters (cost, time, scope, resources, etc).
Possess a strong understanding of other engineering disciplines, to enable effective systems integration.
Demonstrable leadership/organisational skills, with proven line management experience.
Experience managing customer expectations/requirements presenting engineering solutions.
Qualifications
Ideally Mechanical Engineering degree. Extensive relevant engineering experience to include FEA and CAE (ideally in SolidWorks) and in a complex project and multi-disciplined environment.
10 years + industrial engineering experience in as many of the following areas as possible: machined components to tight tolerances; large, welded fabrications; motion control; electromechanical sensors and systems, 2D production drawings.
Confident communicator, both written and verbal. Good IT skills (including MS Office / 365)
Good schedule/budget control, with excellent problem-solving ability and team working skills.
Knowledge of engineering life cycle and business process.
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Potential to grow into a management position.
Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas.
