Job Purpose: To provide advanced Mechanical Engineering support for design activities from concept to engineering release for manufacture.
Principal Accountabilities:
* Lead and drive solutions for complex mechanical design issues.
* Perform detailed design and stress analysis of pressure vessels and structures using classical and FEA techniques.
* Create technical documentation to support Engineering Design.
* Develop mechanical engineering system designs from concept to full system solutions, ensuring robust design and compliance.
* Ensure compliance with relevant design codes, legislative requirements, and Pressure Equipment Regulations.
* Liaise with Classification 3rd parties to plan and obtain design approvals.
* Review and approve engineering drawings and specifications.
* Supervise draftsmen and engineers in producing concept and detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation.
* Participate in internal and external Design Reviews.
* Assess client queries and provide technical engineering solutions.
* Collaborate with clients (internal and external) to understand requirements and propose efficient technical solutions.
* Coordinate with subcontractors, providing technical guidance.
* Ensure engineering solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
* Adhere to engineering and company standards and processes.
* Oversee and implement engineering design changes (ECN).

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Knowledge & Skills:
* Demonstrated expertise in Pressure Vessel design using PD5500, ASME VIII, EN 13445.
* Experience in design by analysis and design by rule methods.
* Proficiency in ANSYS Workbench, MathCAD, Finglow, and Solidworks.
* Familiarity with Pressure Vessel manufacturing techniques.
* Understanding of Class Society Rules related to Diving, Ships, and Lifting Appliances.
* Knowledge of industry guidelines such as IMCA.
* Ability to produce high-quality documentation with attention to detail.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Pressure Vessel engineering role
.Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems for generating and storing engineering packages.
Previous experience with dive systems is advantageous.
Qualifications:
Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent industry experience
