Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join out client in Swadlincote. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Technical Design Engineer with at least 10 to 15 years' experience.

Job Description: As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the development and enhancement of our key product line. With a focus on Electro-Mechanical components, your responsibilities will include:

• Ownership: Lead the design process for a crucial product line, ensuring excellence at every stage.
• Customer Interaction: Act as the primary interface for customers, providing in-depth product knowledge and supporting the Production department.
• Engineering Excellence: Undertake Engineering Change requests and meticulously manage Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Collaboration: Liaise with various departments, including purchasing and production, to deliver designs from concept to completion.
• Manufacturing Expertise: Apply your proficiency in manufacturing methods, encompassing injection moulded plastic, casting, and precision-machined components.

Key Attributes:

• Expertise: Demonstrate 10 to 15 years of hands-on experience in Mechanical Design Engineering, holding positions such as Senior, Principal, Lead, or Chief Engineer.
• CAD Proficiency: Display proficiency in Solidworks, though consideration will be given to candidates with expertise in alternative CAD packages like Inventor or Creo.
• Electro-Mechanical Acumen: Possess essential knowledge and experience with Electro-Mechanical components.
