This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading design consultancy and support the delivery of the mechanical design of building services.

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £50,000 to £60,000 basic

Role Description:

The Resolute Group is working in partnership with a National consultancy that due to the increase in work and growth targets for 2024 looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (HVAC)

Working in the Education / Healthcare and High Rise sectors your portfolio will change depending on the size and scale of the scheme. All with a common theme of delivering designs across HVAC or Building services systems.

Areas such as:

• Ventilation
• Chilled water systems
• Air Conditioning
• Domestic hot/cold water,
• Heating,
• Drainage,
• HVAC controls.

You'll leverage your detailed mechanical building services design expertise, collaborating with a talented team to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions. This role is delivery-based and does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Day to day duties could include:

• Design mechanical systems for new builds and refurbishments.
• Aid engineers in feasibility, concept, and scheme design stages.
• Attend design team meetings and provide technical expertise.
• Conducted site inspections and reported on mechanical building services.
• Prepare design documentation, including surveys, drawings, and specifications.
• Collaborate with other disciplines for project integration.
• Ensure compliance with legislative and health & safety requirements.
• Utilise Building Services software for calculations and draft CAD drawings.
• Select equipment and materials aligned with project budget and contractor needs.
• Attend project meetings, technical discussions, and workshops as required.

This is also a hybrid position working at least 1 day a week in the Birmingham office but this may increase as and when required by the project requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

o Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering

o Experience in MEchancial design for Building Services or HVAC systems.
