The EFL not only administers and regulates prestigious competitions like the SkyBet EFL, Carabao Cup, Bristol Street Motors Trophy, and youth football, but also through its charitable arm, the EFL Trust, oversees the inspirational work across its 72 clubs impacting over 1.5 million individuals each year.
Position Overview:
As Senior Marketing Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering the league's commercial and marketing strategy. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you will lead the delivery of the EFL's key marketing efforts, ensuring excellence in brand marketing, commercial partnerships marketing, broadcaster marketing relationships, and fan engagement initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the marketing landscape of one of the most iconic football leagues in the world.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the execution of key marketing initiatives daily, ensuring seamless delivery.
Line manage two Marketing Managers' day-to-day output across brand marketing, commercial partnerships, broadcaster marketing relationships, and fan engagement initiatives.
Oversee delivery of the graphic design requirements and coordinate with internal teams or external agencies.
Actively collaborate and support the Commercial, Digital, and Club Relationship departments to seamlessly integrate marketing outputs into overarching strategies.
Be the main point of contact for commercial partners and manage marketing outputs in line with contractual rights.
Lead the delivery of branding and creative requirements at the EFL five Wembley finals and key events e.g. EFL awards.
Cultivate strong relationships with key club marketing contacts to ensure first-class delivery of any EFL marketing requirements of the clubs.
Key Requirements:
Proven experience in managing marketing outputs and developing a consumer-facing brand.
It would be advantageous if you have worked in a marketing/brand role within sport.
Knowledge of delivering branding for large-scale events.
Demonstrated success of working in a commercially-focused organisation and executing commercially successful marketing content campaigns.
In-depth understanding of audience insight metrics and their application in evolving marketing campaigns.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence decision-makers at all levels.
