Job DescriptionJOB TITLE: Senior Manufacturing EngineerHOURS: Full time/perm - 38 hours per week (Mon – Thurs: 8hrs/ Fri: 6 hrs – finish early)SALARY: Competitive LOCATION: Hingham, Norfolk (NR9) – Office based roleAbout the roleWe are looking for a manufacturing engineer who has a strong background in the aerospace or automotive industry. You will be responsible for the development, testing, and continuous improvement of commercial aerospace products and the manufacturing assembly processes. You will be able to apply your expertise to optimize the safety, performance, efficiency, yield, and cost of our products and processes using Lean Sigma and APQP methodologies.Supporting multiple new product development (NPD) Projects you will lead DFM/A, PFMEA, production readiness reviews and the design and implementation of lean manufacturing cells to ensure production viability on launch.In your role as our Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will:Ensure production readiness of new product development programs, leading readiness reviews and planning activities to support.Manufacturing Engineering requirements with DFM/A, APQP and project execution throughout NPD/I Processthe design, manufacture and introduction of tooling and assembly aidsexpertise and support in driving continuous improvement throughout to optimize the performance of our products and processes using Lean Sigma and APQP methodologiesand/or specify new equipment, processes and methods for investment or incorporation in line with business objectivesprocess and performance optimisation activity to achieve manufacturing cost reductions and quality improvement.and reduce operational risk using structured tools and techniques.the Production operations with system improvements and continue to create a lean manufacturing cultureprocess performance and development improvement projects using DMAIC approachin process-writing tasks, using interlocked and error proofing process control systemsAbout youTo help Mirus continue our journey of growth, you will bring your expertise within a manufacturing engineering capacity, a passion for innovation, problem solving abilities and drive for operational excellence along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:Experience working in a highly regulated industry such as Automotive / Aerospace OEM or First Tier supplier or equivalent industries as a Manufacturing / Production engineerExperience of working within a team to meet set deliverables within a manufacturing / production department.Practical working knowledge in the application and implementation of lean manufacturingExperienced in the facilitation and delivery of industrial risk management tools i.e APQP, FMEA, Control plans etc.Demonstrable experience of influencing product realization using a structured approach to DFM/A/C. (Design for Manufacture, Assembly, Cost)Experienced in conducting PPR’s and the effective communication / presentation of results and actions in project Gate reviews.Practical working knowledge of Robotics and Automation including operational programming.Project / Program Management Experience Ability to evaluate, develop and improve existing Production processes.Demonstrable experience in communicating to audiences of different levels through various channels in a concise mannerHigh level of personal accountability and a strong bias for action.Technical experience in Manufacturing Engineering, with a professional qualification (university degree) and/or background in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical)Or a relevant (IMechE) or (IET) qualification / Apprenticeship or equivalent vocational training.If you're ready to take the next step in your career and be a part of a company that values your skills and contributions, we encourage you to apply for our Senior Manufacturing Engineer position.
