Ref18777DepartmentPrivate Client TaxLocationLondonEmployment typeFull-timeDescriptionSenior Manager - Private Client Tax, LondonPurpose of the RoleThis role will involve managing a portfolio of private clients for both tax compliance and tax advisory matters. The candidate will be the primary point of contact for most of the clients in their portfolio.Your clients will include high net worth, dynamic private clients covering a variety of areas (which could include Non Dom & International clients, Family office, Offshore, Inheritance Tax, Trusts and Estate planning.Reporting to Private Client Tax Director/Partner, the Manager/Senior Manager will also provide advisory services to clients and form an integral part of the Advisory Tax team with scope for career progression. The team delivers a full consultative, planning and compliance service to individuals and their families including optimising all private client tax reliefs during lifetime and on death.Key ResponsibilitiesManaging a portfolio of private clients, ensuring key deadlines are metReviewing private client tax returnsProviding bespoke advice across all areas of personal taxation, helping ultra-high net worth and high net worth individuals pay the right amount of taxAssisting Tax Partners, Partners and Directors with more complex enquiries and ensuring planning and cross-selling opportunities are identified and followed upManaging client relationshipsAssisting with wider compliance obligations of the tax teamAny other ad-hoc duties that may be requiredQualificationsACA/ACCA/CTA/STEP qualifiedRequired Skills/KnowledgeGood technical tax knowledge and experience in preparing and reviewing private client tax returns.Experience in managing a compliance portfolioAble to demonstrate relevant practical experience in Private Client tax planning / advisory.Good communication and inter-personal skillsExperience in dealing with non-dom clients and associated structures would be beneficial.An ability to manage a team / delegate and develop junior team members.Required CompetenciesCommunicates with confidence, leveraging support from more senior colleagues when neededDelegates to seniors and trainees as and when appropriateSelf-manages work and prioritises workload effectivelyHas a solutions-based approach to their work, with confidence to make suggestions for review with more senior staff.Required Work ExperienceExperience of managing the annual compliance cycleExperience of providing tax planning and advice to high net worth and/or ultra-high net worth clients, ideally with experience in international clients.Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and provide excellent client careDemonstrable experience of working with increasingly complex tax returns and a varied portfolio.Travel RequirementsEncouraged to visit the other Menzies offices, clients at their sites and participate in networking events
