Senior Manager, Head of Security Architecture and Engineering, Europe Oversees a team providing expert level technical support designing, implementing, and maintaining data center networks and security infrastructure.Oversees a team providing expert level technical support designing, implementing, and maintaining cybersecurity and anti-fraud software.Core Responsibilities:Takes ownership of defining cybersecurity engineering and security architecture visions, by blending the business and regulatory needs of the region as well as considering the enterprise context and impact of decisionsLeads the security architecture and engineering team to implement new security technologies and major releases for the most critical enterprise-wide technology projects. Manages the planning, design, implementations, and deployment of cloud
security systems to support and meet business needs. Ensures installations meet standards, and implements improvements and performance issue solutions.Stays up to date on the latest cybersecurity, fraud, and technology industry developments, and applies learnings with a financial services mindsetManages teams which provide expert level technical support and ensures reliable operation of production cloud environments. Leads the implementation of leading security technologies in infrastructure to improve its overall performance. Maintains comprehensive technical knowledge of software and infrastructure platforms.Provides oversight and ownership to support reviews conducted by second and third line teams to ensure controls and processes are appropriately followedCollaborates with stakeholders across the business and provides subject matter expertise. Supports in identifying and addressing cyber security needs.Trains and mentors junior staff on processes and technologies. Troubleshoots and resolves the most complex issues. Provides guidance and consultation as required. Maintains documentation for the department.Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.What it takes:Minimum of ten years related work experience. Financial Services experience desirableUndergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience.Experience leading cloud engineering projects in AWSExperience implementing modern secure authentication systems and/or leading password-less projects (Auth0, Okta and/or Transmit experience is a plus)Special FactorsVanguard is not offering visa sponsorship for this position.This is a hybrid position and would require you to work in the office location Tuesday-Thursday.About VanguardVanguard is an investment company unlike any other.
