Senior Management Accountant

About Our Client My client are a private equity backed business who are a leading distributor within their sector. They are a key wholesaler and distributor to a wide range of clients, and have a number of sites globally across warehouses and sales sites.
Job Description My client is looking to engage a high quality senior management accountant to join the growing finance team. This role will be key in supporting the finance director and will have involvement across a broad range of activities, including financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial success of a dynamic and growing company.
Key responsibilities include: Financial Reporting · Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review· Provide variance analysis and insights into key financial metrics to assist in decision-making. Budgeting and forecasting · Collaborate with department heads to develop and manage the annual budget· Prepare regular forecasts to ensure alignment with financial goals and industry trendsCost Analysis· Conduct detailed cost analysis to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.· Monitor and report on cost trends, providing recommendations for optimization.· Manage the process for budget holder accountabilityMonth-End Close · Coordinate and lead the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial data.· Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve any discrepancies.Financial Planning· Assist in long-term financial planning and strategy development.· Evaluate the financial impact of business decisions and provide financial guidance.Compliance· Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.· Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
The Successful ApplicantThe ideal candidate for this senior management accountant role will:· Be formally qualified - ACA, CIMA or ACCA· Have proven management accounting and reporting experience.· Be an excellent communicator and problem-solver.· Understand what good looks like, and seek to improve processes wherever possible· Be comfortable working on and improving ERP systems (Netsuite Oracle would be particularly advantageous)· Have exposure to working with Private Equity, Venture Capital or Investment led companies, and be able to meet a range of reporting requirements.· Be keen to continue to improve and develop within a high calibre team
