Salary: �45,000 - �56,000

Burman Recruitment are currently working with a higher education client based in Scotland on the search for a Senior Management Accountant on a permanent basis.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain relationships with key personnel.
• Advise on financial matters and attend meetings as required.
• Address finance-related queries promptly and credibly.
• Prepare and overview monthly Income and Expenditure accounts.
• Analyse variances and participate in action planning.
• Facilitate budget setting and planning processes.
• Provide periodic re-forecasts and maintain staffing complement budgets.
• Contribute to annual HESA returns and University accounts.
• Participate in external statutory reporting as required.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
• Manage periodic claims to research funders accurately and promptly.
• Understand and analyse research activity trends and contributions.
• Conduct annual appraisals and promote open communication.
• Foster cross-departmental communication and continual improvement.

Essential Criteria:

• Accountancy qualification.
• Experience of working in a large, complex environment.
• Line management experience.
