Seymour John are proud to be partnering with a Telford based organisation who seek to recruit a Senior Management Accountant. As an organisation they can offer flexible working to include hybrid / remote working with an expectation to be in the office in Telford once or twice per month.



As a key member of the finance team, this role offers you the opportunity to produce detailed financial analysis, and deliver outstanding business support to your portfolio of operational business areas. You will provide critical insight and business partnering support to heads of department, supporting and challenging them to deliver their business plan objectives through effective financial decision making. You will be experienced in preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts, building complex financial models and leading on the robust financial re-forecasts that underpin our projections. Building and maintaining strong, collaborative working relationships is essential to this role, and you will have a genuine opportunity to influence the future direction of the charity.





About the Role:





As a Senior Management Accountant, you will be responsible for producing and maintaining all aspects of financial analysis and reporting across a range of business areas, providing accurate and relevant management information to directors and heads of department. You will be fully empowered to develop your areas of financial analysis, projections and modelling, and you will be mentored and supported by peers and colleagues who work collaboratively to deliver outstanding finance support.





Areas of responsibility will include:






  • Provide analysis, insight and commentary on financial performance and projections to enable operational colleagues to deliver on their business objectives.

  • Play a primary role within the financial planning processes, including preparation, communication with stakeholders, data collection, commentary and analysis.

  • Oversee the preparation of detailed, accurate and technically correct monthly management accounts in accordance with the group reporting timetable.

  • Act as super-user of finance systems and reporting applications (Microsoft Dynamics BC, SAP BPC and Compleat) undertaking appropriate system administration and development.

  • Support Heads of Department and operational managers to develop and present business cases for income and expenditure by providing data, analysis and insight.

  • Develop techniques, data structures and routines to ensure greater efficiency of financial processes and reporting.

  • Act autonomously on specific delegated duties and/or support for business areas, providing cover for Financial Controllers when required.

  • Support and deliver improvement projects identified for the Finance team as required

  • Mentor and coach our team of Management Accountants to enhance their technical capabilities and develop ways to proactively support the business.





About you





You will ideally be a part qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA etc.), and preferably working towards full qualification, or have significant relevant experience within this or a similar role. You will have drawn on your experience of period end closes to propose and implement more effective ways of working and improvements and have an appreciation of the importance of building and maintaining strong working relationships. To be successful, you will need to be:




  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to your work

  • Empathetic with excellent communication and relationship building skills

  • Confident and used to working at a fast pace in a complex environment

  • A high degree of excel and financial modelling experience
