Job Description

You will be joining a leading multi-billion dollar company in the food ingredients sector with sites located across the globe. They thrive on creativity and innovation by embracing new technologies to push the boundaries of food science.
As the Lead Engineer you’ll be supporting the site Engineering Manager. You’ll be responsible for allocating, co-ordinating, and evaluating all shift Engineering work tasks to ensure that maximum value and compliance is extracted from the team and ensuring the smooth running of the plant. You will supervise the Engineering team and will also provide relief legal duty holder cover for the Engineering Manager.
The role will also include responsibility for the asset management system, carrying out of risk assessments, liaising with external contractors and ensuring that all permit-to-work documents are completed to the required standard. You will analyse breakdown information, control and improve the Engineering Stores function, lead and support on Projects, whilst adhering to the required Quality, Food Safety, Health and Safety and Company Policies.
We’re looking for someone with a Time served Engineering Apprenticeship in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent qualification. You’ll have experience in a similar role working in a high-volume manufacturing environment, which includes continuous processes and batch processes – preferably within the food manufacturing sector.
A practical hands-on approach would be very beneficial and we are also looking for significant experience of working with a maintenance background, covering electrical and mechanical fault finding. Qualifications and training including 17th/18th Edition wiring and PLC fault finding are also pre-requisites for the position.
In addition, you will have knowledge of planned maintenance systems and procedures development. You’ll have well-developed and well-rounded management and leadership skills – being a true team player with the ability to implement continuous improvement schemes.
The salary is on at up to £53,000 to £58,500 per annum. 23 days holiday plus bank holidays, 2x Salary death in benefit service and Health care cash plan. The hours are Monday – Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm (as the site runs 24/7 you may have to work outside usual hours on occasion).
