The School of Law and Criminology provides a research and practice-informed undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum and a student experience that seeks to prepare students with the knowledge, skills, capabilities, and capacities that will be essential for careers in the legal profession and beyond. The School of Law and Criminology offers 3 and 4 year the undergraduate LLB Honours degree and several BA Major Honours degrees in Law in which Law can be taken in combination with, for example, Criminology, Psychology, Business, Information Systems, English Literature or Politics and International Relations. We also offer the hybrid LLM BY research degrees in Cyber Law and Policy and international Migration and Refugee Law and expect to add LLM by research postgraduate degrees in Counter-Terrorism, Security and the Law and International Trade Law in the near future.
Candidates should have successful experience of undergraduate teaching and student support in the laws of England and Wales and be prepared to contribute to the delivery of any two of our compulsory foundational law subjects. Given our plans for further expansion of existing provision, we would particularly welcome applications from candidates able to offer expertise and experience and lead in the areas of Torts and Lawyers Skills and SQE preparation. Applications from candidates with experience of legal practice would also be very welcome. Successful candidates should also be able to offer a specialist research-linked optional final year elective subject.
