About the team: Their Market Access team specializes in pricing and market access, focusing primarily on payer research. They have extensive experience across various therapeutic areas, including oncology, rare diseases, infectious diseases, and vaccines. Their teams primarily concentrate on Europe, the US, and other well-established international markets with Health Technology Assessment frameworks, such as Canada, Australia, South Korea, and Japan. However additionally conduct a lot of work with emerging markets including APAC and LATAM. They have a robust network of in-house payers and payer-advising Key Opinion Leaders in these markets, enabling them to engage with the most relevant experts for each project. Your primary role: As the Director of Market Access, you will assume leadership of a team consisting of consultants and analysts and have a significant influence on shaping the future and strategic direction of the market access division within the organization. Reporting directly to the company's management team, this role will entail overseeing the commercial performance of the division. Additionally, you will have a key responsibility for enhancing the team's capabilities through training initiatives and occasional recruitment efforts. Thought leadership, product development, ensuring quality standards, and fostering client relationships will also be integral aspects of this position. Collaborating with other Directors, marketing, and business development teams, you will work towards achieving the company's overall objectives. Main duties include: Planning and Strategy: Contribute to the development and execution of the division's strategic vision and plan, aligning it with company objectives to ensure the practice achieves its strategic goals. Establish a strong reputation and thought leadership for the practice area among clients through the creation of valuable content, publications, presentations, and other client-facing initiatives Collaborate closely with other business Directors to drive the realization of the strategic vision, providing insights and guidance to position the company as a leading market access and research consultancy. Author papers and participate in international conferences and meetings such as ISPOR and World EPA to enhance visibility and thought leadership. Deliverables and Oversight: Provide decisive leadership in formulating brand strategy and addressing access and reimbursement challenges. Lead contributions to Global Market Access projects and engagements. Oversee and coordinate project plans, including budgeting, resource allocation, and timelines that align with client objectives. Develop proposals and determine appropriate methodologies for projects. Conduct various activities such as secondary research reports, advisory boards, training programs, and primary research interviews involving diverse respondent types, primarily Payers and Key Opinion Leaders. Lead project teams consisting of Consultants and Analysts to successfully execute global projects and deliverables for clients. Client Management and Business Development: Actively participating in business development initiatives, which involves handling Requests for Proposals (RFPs), drafting proposals, conducting project costing, managing budgets, and ensuring client compliance. Nurturing and expanding relationships with key clients and organizations to foster business growth and secure client sponsorships that align with the strategic goals of the company. Desirable: Collaborating with Marketing and Business Development teams to develop targeted client development plans, meet sales targets, and fulfil service requirements. Authoring papers and actively participating in international conferences and meetings such as the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) and World Evidence, Pricing & Access (WEPA). Required Skills and Experience : Technical Comprehensive understanding and extensive experience with international payer systems, encompassing major regions such as EU5, US, LATAM, and APAC. Demonstrated success in formulating effective market access strategies, including conducting payer research and landscape analysis. Proficient in independently contributing to projects with minimal assistance, including tasks such as data analysis, storyboarding, slide development, critical thinking, problem-solving, development of internal/external interview guides and materials, and delivering PowerPoint and Excel presentations. Development of staff Supervising a diverse team of professionals at various levels, ranging from Associate Director to Analyst, and providing project management support. Responsibilities include performance management, conducting promotion and salary reviews, as well as handling pastoral responsibilities. Assisting senior management daily in matters pertaining to junior staff management, while actively contributing to the development and implementation of company procedures and practices. Assuming a leadership role in determining the division's resource needs, collaborating with the RP People Team to identify recruitment priorities. Actively involved in the recruitment process as a leader within the market access division. Personal Demonstrates a strategic approach to solving technical problems, while considering commercial implications. Possesses excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, enabling effective individual and collaborative contributions within a team environment. Exhibits an entrepreneurial mindset, with an interest in exploring new business opportunities for the team (although not a mandatory requirement). Capable of working under pressure, meeting deadlines, and managing multiple projects concurrently. Skilled at establishing credibility when interacting with senior management at client companies. Proficient in written and verbal communication, including delivering presentations, leading meetings, facilitating workshops, and producing business reports.
