Job Title: Senior Lawyer – (Dispute Resolution)

Location: Newcastle

Salary: DOE

About Us: Our client's Dispute Resolution department is experiencing an exciting period of growth, expanding both in specialisms and geographical reach. The team currently comprises 4 partners and 7 fee earners, each with expertise in various litigation areas. We are now seeking a Senior Lawyer to join our dynamic and successful team.

The Role: As a Senior Lawyer in our Dispute Resolution department, you will play a crucial role in the growth and development of the team. We are looking for a candidate with general litigation experience in one or more of the following areas:




  • Property litigation
  • Commercial litigation
  • Insolvency litigation
  • Intellectual property litigation



Key Responsibilities:




  • Handle a variety of litigation matters, including:





    • Commercial contract disputes
    • Director duties
    • Shareholder disputes, including unfair prejudice petitions and derivative claims
    • Property litigation (e.g., dilapidation claims, possession proceedings, land registration disputes, contested lease renewals)
    • Contentious probate (e.g., will disputes, administration disputes, proprietary estoppel claims)
    • Specialist tax dispute advice and advocacy services before the First Tier Tax Tribunal (e.g., VAT disputes)
    • Intellectual property disputes (e.g., design rights, copyright, passing off, trade marks)





  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Demonstrate proven business development skills
  • Supervise and develop junior team members
  • Contribute to the department's growth and success



Requirements:




  • At least 10 years' PQE with solid litigation experience, ideally gained at a Legal 500 firm
  • Excellent technical knowledge
  • Strong client relationship-building skills
  • Keen commercial awareness
  • Proven track record in generating work
  • Rounded academic qualifications
