Job Description
We are looking for immediately available lab technician either a MSc with some industry experience or someone who is just finishing their PhD. You will be supporting extremely complex cell repgoramming, gene editing and early cell therapy research.
As a Molecular Biology Lab Technician at you will play a crucial role in supporting our research and development efforts in the field of molecular biology. You will be responsible for conducting laboratory experiments, maintaining equipment, and analysing data. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in molecular biology techniques, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for scientific research.
Senior Lab Technician – Cell Reprogramming
Location: London (UCL Labs)
Salary: Up to £47,0000 + Excellent Benefits
Responsibilities:
Perform various molecular biology experiments, including CRISPR, Cell Reprogramming, DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, cloning, and Western Blot.
Prepare and analyse samples, follow established protocols, and record experimental data accurately.
Maintain laboratory inventory and ensure an adequate supply of materials and reagents.
Adhere to strict laboratory safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment, such as thermal cyclers, centrifuges, and spectrophotometers.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
Coordinate with vendors for equipment repairs and maintenance as needed.
Implement quality control measures to ensure accuracy and reliability of experimental results.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and comply with regulatory guidelines.
Participate in the development and validation of new molecular biology protocols and assays.
Requirements:
MSc in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field. A PhD is a plus.
Proven experience working as a lab technician in a molecular biology laboratory.
Strong knowledge of molecular biology techniques, including CRISPR, Cell Reprogramming, DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, cloning, and Western Blot.
Familiarity with laboratory equipment and instruments used in molecular biology experiments.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow protocols accurately.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and the ability to work in a controlled laboratory environment.
