The Role:
Are you passionate about Java development and team leadership? We have an exciting opportunity for you to be at the forefront of a major transformation project. As a Java Development Team Leader, you'll be instrumental in leading a team of talented junior Java Developers, inspiring them to create ground-breaking solutions within a dynamic, growth-oriented environment. As you will be working as part of a large digital transformation there is a requirement to be onsite each day, with the view to possible hybrid working in the future - TBC.
Your Responsibilities:
Application Development:
Design and build Microservices-based applications with a focus on performance, security, and scalability.
Foster collaboration with agile engineering teams, both internally and externally, to ensure seamless project delivery.
Lead by example, demonstrating best practices and providing guidance to your team.
Leadership and Team Management:
Mentor and coach a small squad of junior Java Developers, nurturing their growth and development.
Take ownership of team deliverables while effectively managing your own tasks.
Integration and Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with cross-functional technology and product teams to ensure smooth integration of new capabilities into existing platforms.
About you:
At least 5 years of Java development experience.
Proficiency in various technologies and frameworks, including Java, Spring Boot, and MongoDB, with familiarity in cloud platforms.
Knowledgeable in modern software development practices such as CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps.
A natural leader with a passion for mentoring and guiding junior team members.
Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking ability.
Experience of leading a small squad of junior team members.
