Senior Java Developer

A Financial Services client of ours has a brand-new opening for a Senior Java Engineer to join a passionate and experienced team of professionals working on greenfield projects as well as existing flagship and world-class electronic trading platforms. As part of an Agile working environment, they will be rewarded with a competitive salary of up to £140,000 plus bonus and benefits. An experienced real-time engineer is needed within the team and will join in a pivotal role, assisting with scaling their Middle Office platform and electronic trading suite. You will be responsible for ensuring system reliability, testability, recoverability, automation, throughput and latency. Your expertise in applying modern software engineering principles and strong understanding of computer science fundamentals and software engineering will be essential in this role.As a Senior within the team, you'll need to mentor more junior colleagues and interact with stakeholders and peers in locations globally. As an analytical thinker, enjoying a challenge will be a must and experience in the developing real-time systems will be a given. You will also need to have a passion for financial markets, with knowledge of multiple financial markets and market structures.Experience:- 8+ years expertise with core Java- Demonstrable experience scaling real-time systems- Exposure to both Front Office and Middle Office environments- Java 11, AWS, Microservices and Ansible- Multi-threading, MySQL, Spring and Hibernate experience- Expertise with system reliability & testing- Knowledge in recoverability, automation, throughput and latency.- Low-latency expertise and distributed systems expertise- Knowledge of at least one scripting language (shell, python, perl etc.)This could be the right role for you if you are a Senior Java Engineer that is passionate about delivering high-quality software and new features for high traffic platforms.
