The Senior Internal Communications Officer has a key role in the Internal Communications team. The role benefits from a competitive salary, generous pension, hybrid, flexible working, 33 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays) - increasing to 38 days over 5 years, options to buy and sell holiday, free first/mental aid first aider courses, Blue Light and NHS online shopping discounts, cycle to work scheme, life assurance, flu jab, eye care, mental health and wellbeing tools and volunteering days.The successful candidate could be based at any manned St John building.Please see the job description for more detail (this can be viewed on our website or once you click apply)About You:Educated to GCSE level or equivalent (Grade C / 4) including Maths & English, minimum 5Educated to degree levelAt least four years’ relevant experience working in communicationsProven experience of success in internal communications, creating and implementing internal communications plansPractical experience in writing for different channels and audiences – including newsletter content, intranet articles and internal social media posts – and knowledge of how to measure engagement and gather insight to understand an audience’s behaviour.Ability to influence stakeholders across the organisation, including senior managementAbout The Role:Providing expert internal communications advice and support to senior managers and teams to ensure that communications are timely, effective and have impact.Creating and advising on communication plans, use of relevant channels, and development of key messages, to help ensure a successful outcome.Leading on the event planning, logistics and delivery of our quarterly All St John Townhall meetings (some are remote, some are hybrid) to achieve maximum engagement from our people. These events are one of the main, regular opportunities for our people to hear from and ask questions to our most senior leaders.Supporting the Internal Communications Manager by creating and delivering communications plans and activity in line with our culture programme, including amplifying Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) priorities and awareness moments (e.g. Black History Month and Disability Awareness Month).About Us:This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team of over 1,700 employees and over 30,000 volunteers, united by our goal of saving lives through essential first aid services, training and campaigning.
