Internal Audit Senior Manager London or Manchester (hybrid) Competitive Salary plus benefitsThis role sits within the Audit and Compliance sub team (6 FTE), and you will be leading internal audit activities demonstrating best practice in audit and controls. The role holder will provide effective internal audit capability, including the scoping, delivery, and completion of audits (risk and policy-based) as agreed with the Smart DCC’s Executive Committee (Exco) and Audit and Risk Committee (ARC).What will you be doing?As our Internal Audit Senior Manager, you will:Provide independent assurance and guidance to the Board and the Audit and Risk Committee on the adequacy and effectiveness of the DCC’s control environmentLead the development of a three-year audit plan aligned to our strategic and enterprise risksSupport the business in optimising controls and process efficiency and in protecting value and supporting growth.Execute risk-based and policy-based audits, or control-related projects ensuring that audit reports provide business insight and improve the control environmentIdentify risk and opportunities for improvements within the role, function and business that can deliver long-term positive returns for the businessLiaise with stakeholders (including external auditors, and Group internal audit)What are we looking for?A relevant professional qualification relating to Audit or AccountingMinimum 8 years’ experience in an internal audit roleExperience of operational and/or programmatic auditsEffective communication skills with experience of dealing with stakeholders at all levels of the organisationStrong report writing and presentation skills, and ability to communicate with impactMember of the IIA (desirable)Led or assisted technology-based audits and IT programme audits (desirable)About the DCC:At the DCC, we believe in making Britain more connected, so we can all lead smarter, greener lives.
