Novidea has excellent traction in the Specialty market, including Lloyd’s of London, and is accelerating growth across the globe.What’s the Job?The Senior Insurance Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for delivering rapid, value-driven customer solutions for complex insurance business problems. The BA plays a key role in determining the optimal use of Novidea’s product per client, acting as a liaison between the client side and our internal delivery and product teams. This role collaborates with end users and the project team to evaluate the system and turns business goals into technical requirements for our agile teams.What You'll DoServe as Subject Matter Expert (SME)/specialist for Insurance Broker Accounting (IBA) and financeServe as mentor to more junior BAs on projectsManage the planning of requirement workshops and other project meetingsFacilitate requirements gathering workshops with clients and third partiesDefine application problems gathered from clients and partners; evaluate procedures and processes to identify alternative workflow solutionsDocument business requirements through specifications, user stories, business process diagrams (BPD), etc.Perform gap analysis via industry and platform expertiseControl solutions by establishing specifications; coordinating production with programmersValidate results by testing programsProvide references for the agile team by creating the necessary technical documentationsWhat You BringExtensive experience and understanding of the UK insurance market, specifically from a Broker/MGA point of view a mustExperience at a software house or with vendors, working with development teams.Foundational understanding of the policy lifecycle: quoting, underwriting, and policy administration and renewalsExperience with Policy Administration Systems, IBA Systems, Claims Management Systems, etc.Considerable understanding of insurance accounting and finance, including the concepts of double-entry bookkeeping, ledgers, postings, cash management, allocations, payment processes, credit control tasks, etc.Experience working on designing and architecting Insurance Services solutions while working closely with implementation teams, using agile development techniquesConsiderable experience with various activities across the software lifecycle, including design, documentation writing, development processes, requirements, and architectureTeam player attitudeExcellent written and oral communication skills with ability to communicate effectively with both clients and offshore development teamsProficiency in the English language is essentialAbility to work from London office 3 days per weekIf You Bring These, Even Better!Experience working with SalesforceKnowledge of London Market insurance/reinsurance, including bureau processingExperience with tools such as Jira, Visio, and other business process mapping toolsExperience working in an agile environment to include managing/refining project backlogsLife at NovideaWe hire people, not just skills.
