Role : Senior Infrastructure & Design Engineer
Location : London/Remote (1 day a week onsite)
Salary:
£75,000 - £95,000 + Benefits
The position:
The role would suit an experienced engineer who has an infrastructure cloud background in a large organisation (#####+ users) who is now looking to take a step into architecture.
You will ideally have exposure/experience with TOGAF aswell as implemented policies, standards, guidelines and procedures.
You should be able to plan, analyse, design, test and deploy enterprise-scale, on-prem, cloud, IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS solutions.
You will be a technical subject matter expert on both cloud and on-prem infrastructure systems including networking, servers, platforms, devices and classroom technology. You will apply your technical expertise to promote innovative solutions to our customers.
You will develop relationships with key customer stakeholders and help them achieve their business goals.
Skills/Experience:
Proven experience in Microsoft Azure and Modern Workplace with a focus on implementing client solutions.
Strong expertise in Microsoft cloud services, including Azure and Microsoft 365.
Strong knowledge of EMS technologies, including Microsoft Intune, Azure Active Directory, and Conditional Access.
Proven track record managing large on-prem infrastructure estates.
Good understanding of on-prem infrastructure including, networking, servers, wifi, devices and classroom technology
Strong experience in developing a cloud strategy and coordinating the adoption process.
Experience with mobile device management (MDM) and application management concepts.
Experience with identity and access management (IAM) principles and best practices.
Strong understanding of information protection and data security.
Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or other relevant tools.
Experience in leading cultural change for cloud and the latest technology adoption within the company.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
Experience in dealing with large global Microsoft 365 migrations/implementations after M&A
Experience in dealing with third-party provided services including outsourced / augmented teams.
Ability to multitask and manage a large and varied workload and demonstrate high levels of self-organisation.
In-Depth knowledge of escalation procedures, Incident Management and other disciplines related to Service Delivery
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to effectively communicate with and influence both internal and external stakeholders, up to and including C-Suite.
Snippet of responsibilities:
Lead technical discussions with senior customer executives and the wider Infrastructure department that drive decisions and implementation approaches.
Ensure that system requirements are effectively translated into solutions, including reviewing, and owning the architecture and its evolution.
Review and manage technical requirements and business functional requirements to design and establish new cloud platforms and technologies.
Ensure cloud services and infrastructure are managed, monitored, and secured in accordance with latest controls and standards.
