Senior Project Manager - Cruachan Units 3&4

This is a fantastic opportunity – spanning from design through to full operation, and you’ll be involved in all of it! As the Senior Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading of the upgrades of Cruachan Power Station on units 3&4.
This is a permanent role, based at our Cruachan Power Station. You’ll be reporting into the Engineering Director and leading a team to deliver critical engineering upgrades. You will be building on the shoulders of giants who constructed the original site back in the 1960’s!

About the role
This is a significant investment project that will include the design, manufacture, installation, and commissioning of the new units.
The upgrade will include the replacement of the turbines, generators, and Main Inlet Valves during planned outages.
You’ll be managing outages on this critical plant while other generating units are operational. The role will also play a critical part in the Drax growth strategy that will involve a number of internal and external stakeholders.
Critically, you’ll be ensuring that the culture on the project delivery is Best in Class, and you’ll develop and manage the CAPEX project budgets to secure the resources necessary to achieve the project objectives.
Delivery is everything and you’ll ensure that the technical performance of the contractors is of the highest level, to ensure that the new units meet the performance requirements specified.
About you
Essentially, you’ll hold a Degree in a relevant subject such as Engineering/Law/Quantity Surveying or equivalent large Programme Management experience, as well as a Project Management qualification including membership of the Association of Project Management (or equivalent).
You’ll demonstrate your fantastic experience of developing strong relationships with Contractors and internal customers to manage the requirements of both. We want your proven track record of delivering successful results in a complex, multi-disciplinary projects to shine!

This is apermanentrole, based in Cruachan. We understand that even though this role may not be in your current location, here at Drax we may able to support with relocation.
