Coalville, Leicestershire / Hybrid – onsite when required



 





Our Public Sector Client is looking for a Senior HR Advisor to join their team on an initial 3 month contract basis.





The successful candidate must be qualified to at least CIPD level 5 with demonstrable experience in a generalist role, with strong people skills, tenacity, and the drive to achieve good solutions to complex HR cases. They will also need strong computer skills and good analytical ability and a high level of written and verbal communication skills.





In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and actioning day-to-day people-related issues.  Those issues will include, recruitment and retention, performance management, employee onboarding, absence management and support, trade union liaison, organisation design, grievance and disciplinary management.





Experience, skills and knowledge




  • Generalist HR experience at a senior level, and fully qualified to CIPD standard.

  • Experience of working with computer software packages, particularly the Microsoft Office suite (or equivalent), bespoke payroll systems, databases and e-learning systems (or ability to be able to learn these quickly).

  • High level of computer literacy, able to learn new software packages quickly and able to support other employees in their use.

  • Proficient in use of HR management systems such as I-Trent (Training will be provided)

  • Able to effectively manage caseload and provide regular monthly report and statistical analysis relating to absence, training, disciplinary and development activities across the various Teams





Communication, behaviours, and interpersonal skills




  • Ability to organise, prioritise, plan work, and adhere to strict deadlines.

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision using own initiative.

  • Willingness to problem solve and approach issues with a ‘can do’ attitude

  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent spoken and written communication skills.

  • Able to be flexible about working hours where there is a requirement to complete work to a deadline.

  • Able to quickly build and maintain rapport and gain the confidence of others.

  • Able to demonstrate a good understanding of equality and diversity considerations.
