Senior Highways Design Engineer - Ipswich Our client, a leading Design Consultancy in the Highways sector, is looking for a Senior Highways Design Engineer to join their team in Ipswich. In this role, you will be responsible for producing design solutions to maintain and improve highway infrastructure across the whole of Suffolk.As a Senior Design Engineer, this role will see you play a key role in overseeing the coordination of design deliverables, ensuring compliance with quality standards and legal requirements, and managing multi-disciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities:Senior lead on the coordination of design deliverables to achieve project outcomesTechnical design checksDelivery of projects to agreed time, cost, and quality expectationsResource planning and coordination of multi-disciplinary teamsEnsuring compliance with internal quality standards and processesCompliance with Health & Safety and Environmental legislationStaff and people management, including training and development, performance reviews, and performance managementWorking collaboratively with customers to understand and develop project objectivesManaging and developing customer relationshipsKey Skills & Requirements:Chartered Engineer or a highly experienced Engineer working towards C Eng (minimum 10 years relevant experience required)Evidence of leading multi-disciplinary projects to achieve program, cost, and quality expectationsExtensive design and construction experience in highways, including review of design software outputsExperience of commercial awareness in project deliveryExtensive experience of Local Authority design standards and contractsEvidence of developing and mentoring staffExperience of design resource planning and program managementEvidence of managing Health & Safety in design and constructionComputer literate, particularly with packages such as Microsoft Excel and WordExperience of the NEC suite of contract documents and contract administrationUK/EEC driving licenseOur client offers a competitive salary along with a range of benefits including 28 days' annual leave plus 8 days' bank holiday, a pension scheme, life assurance, employee discount platform, and group-wide career opportunities.
