Senior Highway Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Highway Engineer to come and work on highway maintenance/improvement schemes in the west Yorkshire area.
As the experienced Senior Highway Engineer you will:

• To design and deliver highways projects or ongoing areas of work within the Traffic, Engineering and Design Team.
• Formulate design solutions for schemes and provide expert support for the management of external suppliers designs and proposals for highway projects
• To undertake and manage the investigation, consultation, evaluation, design, programming, contract preparation, implementation of highway improvement proposals.
• Carry out site inspections, including setting out, ensuring compliance with drawings and specification, preparation and issue of orders. Undertake site measurement and checking / recommending contractual payments.
• Responsible for the project management of construction schemes.
• Responsible for design reviews, checking and processing of Highways Act 1980 - Section 278 procedures with respect to the Council's responsibility for new developments.
• Co-ordinate stakeholder consultation during the design and construction of highway major projects
• To deputise for the Engineering and Design Team Leader as required
