What will you be doing?
This position will enable you to partner with multiple business units and work with a variety of stakeholders to CxO level. The role will play a key part in the procurement of commonly identified direct and indirect goods and services with contracts largely focusing on professional services. The role will be expected to lead full lifecycle procurement projects, coaching and managing key stakeholders through all stages of end-to-end group procurement process. This will commence from opportunity identification, through supplier negotiation and contract drafting/signature.
Furthermore, the jobholder will use IFS, Novacura, PowerBi, Excel, PowerPoint to create MI and reporting packs for presentation to key stakeholders.
Key responsibilities will be:
Lead Group Procurement teams, ideally covering strategic sourcing of Professional and Technical Services contracts gained in an international, energy sector environment
Work with the key stakeholders across the g roup to identify demand, create long-term forecasting plans and identify potential outsourcing opportunities. .
Lead change and champion the value of best practice procurement within the organisation.
Work collaboratively with Commercial, Technical and Procurement teams to ensure technical competency of suppliers and improve the supply chain .
Negotiate and award contracts in line with group processes.
Review existing supplier agreements to consistently re-negotiate or tender as appropriate.
Undertake regular periodic reviews of the suppliers within each c ategory to ensure it is aligned with our Business Strategy.
Develop savings reports and provide insight to variances.
Qualifications & knowledge to succeed
Full qualification in business administration, procurement, or similar relevant field with 3+ years experience in group category management, procurement, sourcing and contracting, preferably in power or engineering industries.
General knowledge and experience of steam turbines, combustion systems, steam cycle chemistry, WTP, generators and flue gas emission abatement desirable.
Experience and knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 (or OHSAS 18001).
Strong understanding of supply contract legal terms.
Proven negotiation skills with ability to think commercially, operationally, and strategically.
Confident communicator with an engaging personality and demonstratable experience of developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders across all business units and external stakeholders to CxO.
