The selected candidate will be employed through Ordtek and will work from our Hethel, Norwich office.Role Description:Due to increased workloads, we are looking for candidates with Geophysical and UXO offshore wind survey experience to join our established and growing Geosciences Service Line.Venterra’s Geosciences service line supports client’s by providing: Project specific geoscience and UXO survey strategies.Survey scoping and definition of technical specifications.Survey tender management and evaluation.Technical support of offshore client representatives.Management of in-field survey operations, vessels, and survey contractors.QA/HSE supervision.QA/QC of survey contractor’s deliverables and reports.Interpretation of Geophysical Survey datasets and Integration with existing data and site knowledge.Ground modelling, site characterisation and presentation of site conditions and associated project risks.Working within the Geoscience service line you will play an active role in a growing and dynamic team.Key responsibilities will also include:This includes (but not limited to) the following:Oversee the technical aspects of planning, scoping, and execution support for phased offshore surveys and site investigations.Support clients in selection of most suitable contractors to undertake the defined workscope, through evaluation of contractor proposals and provide clarification requirements to ensure confidence and clarity in expected delivery.Demonstrate and apply in-depth expertise in geophysical survey practices, applying both theoretical and practical knowledge as well as operational experience effectively.Assess offerings from new survey and site investigation contractors, and keep up to date with latest technologies, and methodologies to enhance project efficiency.Work closely with survey & site investigation contractors to ensure compliance with contractual, health, safety, and environmental standards throughout pre-mobilisation, mobilisation, survey fieldworks and interpretation and deliverables phases. Manage and provide support to on-site representatives to guarantee the delivery of high-quality data.Engage with clients and stakeholders to navigate third-party impacts on site investigations, devising and discussing mitigation strategies to safeguard project timelines and outcomes.Supervise the interpretation of extensive geophysical datasets and conduct comprehensive site characterisations to identify risks for regulatory and design and engineering needs, with support from ground modelling and engineering teams.Skilfully draft and oversee the production of complex reports, leading teams to deliver thorough comprehensive project documentation.Balance project management and technical responsibilities, with an approximate allocation of 40% to project management and 60% to technical tasks.Understand and manage operational and project-specific activities within the team, including detailed comprehension of contract scopes and requirements.Provide clear leadership and task coordination within the project team, assigning responsibilities that play to individual strengths.Expertise required:Understanding of the survey and site investigation requirements for offshore renewables developments, including data acquisition and processing methods and limitations in line with industry best practises (Specific technical support will be provided from technical leads). Hands on operational and technical experience of offshore survey and site investigation techniques.Working knowledge and experience of industry standard Geophysical data processing and interpretation packages as well as GIS capability.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Working full-time as there will be constant activity. Someone who can handle many tasks in parallel and has a strong technical and commercial understanding. Good at collaborating with others.
