A fantastic opportunity has arisen in our Buying department for a Senior Buyer to join the Pavers & Jones Bootmaker Head Office Team at Northminster Business Park, York. An established senior footwear buyer is required for our successful and long-standing retail business. Operating at a senior level in the business, we are looking for someone with a large amount of sourcing and negotiation experience, a true passion for the product that they sell, with a professional and can-do attitude.There are three main arms to our business Pavers Outlet, Pavers Full Price and Jones Bootmaker . This Senior Buyer role will focus on part of the Pavers Outlet range .We consider ourselves innovative in our approach to retailing and encourage our buyers to think in an innovative and progressive way. We are pragmatic, always keeping our customer at the forefront of our thinking and ensuring we offer the best value and the best quality. We are always collaborative in our thinking and behaviour.Key Responsibilities for our Senior Footwear BuyerWorking with the planning team, develop the buying plan for each season, developing a creative and balanced product rangeIdentify the supply chain for each product group from the buying plan and negotiate styles, volumes, prices and terms with each supplier.Working with the right teams to intimately understand the retail channels and third-party partners to provide the right products at suitable price points to satisfy their needs.Attend trade shows, as required, to keep in touch with current products and fashions.Visit Suppliers in Europe and Asia each seasonWork to the KPI’s agreed, measuring performance vs buying plan, margin, sales and markdownsMonitor the performance in season of the products and groups for which you are responsible and maximise stock turn with minimal reductions.About youFootwear industry buying experience is essentialSecuring best margins through negotiations and understanding of costing structureAble to build rapport and establish working relationships with easeComputer literate with excellent Excel skillsHighly organised with excellent time managementAble to multi-task and prioritiseAble to attend supplier meetings and trade shows in the UK and overseasBenefits/Package for our Senior Buyer– Trainers:Salary: Competitive, depending on experienceDeath in ServicePrivate Health InsuranceGenerous Staff DiscountFree on-site parkingHoliday Entitlement (Increases with service)Company Contribution PensionAccess to RetailTRUST (Wellbeing Support)Discretionary BonusAbout UsAt Pavers we are passionate about providing comfort and happiness to our customers, and we make sure to employ people who are as passionate as we are.
