Job DescriptionSenior Firmware Engineer required by an Electronic Engineering and Product Design consultancy specialising in projects involving IoT, AI and video monitoring systems, though their total project portfolio is far wider. This is a wonderful opportunity for a multi disciplined electronics software and firmware engineer to play with the latest technology and be given free reign to explore and innovate. On offer is a negotiable salary of circa £60,000, a great benefits package, and a career path to Principle Engineer and/or Technical Manager.In this role, the Senior Firmware Engineer will play a key role in leading projects designing and testing embedded software/firmware for electronics products, in particular AI- based audio and video solutions. You’ll also contribute in varying degrees with the hardware product design too. You’ll create technical documentation and manuals, and work to high standards of safety and ethics.The right candidate for this Senior Firmware Engineer position will be of university degree caliber, creative, and with strong hardware and embedded software experience. This role will demand technical confidence to allow autonomy, independence, collaboration and team work. Good communication skills will also be important. The team want to wow and delight their clients, so the Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer will be encouraged to show flair and inventive thinking, and lead by example to inspire the junior engineers.Technical requirements include a depth of experience with embedded C and C++ software development for electronics, HAL development, RTOS, an understanding of Edge AI and ML MCUs, processors and techniques, Linux development tools, and testing tools.
