Senior Fire Safety Manager (Projects)
Locations:
Manchester M50 3SP or Leeds are our corporate offices however National travel will be required.
Role Type:
Permanent, Full time 37.5 hours
Salary:
£55,000 - £62,000 depending on experience + Manager Bonus 10%

The role
You will assist in the discharge of our fire safety duties and responsibilities. In order to carry out the following duties and responsibilities, the post holder will be appointed by BUPA (being satisfied that he/she is suitably competent) to ensure the company complies with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (the Order) and all other governance mandated by Fire Safety regulations in the UK.
How you’ll help to make health happen
People Management and supervisory responsibilities for the fire safety team.
Be the link between the internal Bupa project team and Bupa fire advisors.
Produce the written fire strategy for sites, where required.
Produce the evacuation strategy for relevant asset class, where required.
Produce a full and suitable fire risk assessment on completion of the project.
Undertaking peer audit competency assessments yearly for all fire officers.
Carry out full door survey where required either with the appropriate fire advisor whose portfolio the premises is located.
Carry out intrusive surveys where possible or request by third party.
Plan fire risk assessments activity across team, taking a risk-based approach in alignment with C365 reporting.
Responsible for fire team data updated in a timely manner to facilitate senior leadership and governance led reporting.
Work closely with UK Property Compliance Manager to facilitate accurate Fire Safety Risk and governance reporting is always in place.
What’s needed for this role
Technical Qualifications and Training:
Fire Safety Modules, or individual subjects including a fire risk assessment qualification, obtained from the Fire Service College, Moreton-in-Marsh (desired but not necessary if similar accredited qualifications have been obtained e.g., BTEC, NEBOSH.)
Fire safety studies foundation degree/Fire engineering degree – advantageous
Experienced Fire door inspector
Intrusive survey inspections up to and including level 4
Professional body membership (preferred but not essential)
Appropriate level driving licence and a clean driving record to support company insured car.
Have relevant fire safety experience (i.e., 5 yrs. +) of working in a care home environment or local authority environment.
Knowledge and understanding of The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005

Health Technical Memorandums – Fire code suite of documents
British standards
Microsoft Teams and Outlook, Microsoft excel, word, power point and associated documents.
