Senior Finance Technician

Are you self-motivated, enjoy teamwork and have a positive attitude?The Stockton and Darlington Railway (S&DR) opened on 27 September 1825, connecting places, people, communities and ideas, and its impact transformed the world.To mark the 200th anniversary of the event which began a global social and economic boom, three councils, Darlington, Durham and Stockton-on-Tees, with the Tees Valley Authority, have joined together with a range of local, national and international partners to bring you a year-long programme of celebration throughout 2025.You will provide financial support to the project and work closely with the Festival Director as well as linking with Finance colleagues in Durham and Darlington. You’ll be required to liaise with managers to assist in setting a robust budget and regular monitoring of management accounts to ensure that expenditure remains within the agreed funding envelope. There will be a requirement to interpret and analyse a range of financial information and be able to communicate this to a range of stakeholders. The completion of grant returns to a variety of funders is another key duty. You will be able to demonstrate behaviours which underpin the Council’s culture statement.This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-respected, friendly and motivated Finance Team.We are keen to hear from individuals with the following skills and experience: Significant financial management experience. Strong communication skills and being comfortable to convey financial information to a range of individuals. The ability to plan and organise in order to complete tasks in a timely manner and ensure deadlines are met. Excellent attention to detail and a proven ability to complete work to a high degree of accuracy.
