NLB Solutions are working with an organisation that are looking to recruit for a Senior Finance Officer that has worked in a transactional role with supervisory experience. The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day performance of the AP/AR team and ensure the timely and accurate processing of all accounts payable, accounts receivable, and banking tasks. The business will offer a fully remote working policy but will have regular meetings in St Albans, Watford or Hemel. The Senior Finance Officer will report into a Finance Manager that has been instrumental in making the team operate effectively and efficiently in the requirements of the business.The role is to work as part of team of 4 that offers mentorship and development and is supported by a Finance Manager. An individual with at least 5 years of experience in a transactional role and 2 years as a supervisor as a minimum is required to make a success of this opportunity. Must have a hands-on approach and ensure all processing is completed accurately and timely.Duties:
* Lead and manage the AP/AR team of 3, ensuring team members are appropriately multi-skilled and motivated to deliver the outputs required in an accurate and timely way.
* Ensure the team are suitably motivated and engaged and demonstrate positive behaviours, so that high levels of productivity are sustained.
* Invoices are processed accurately, queries are resolved and reconciliations completed in line with specific timeframes.
* All funds received into bank accounts are recorded correctly, unallocated receipts are cleared, and queries are responded to within specific timescales.
* Banking tasks are completed as required, banking transactions identified from statements are posted promptly.
* A high quality of customer service is provided by the AP/AR team.
* High levels of compliance are maintained in relation to AP/AR policies and procedures.Person Spec:
* Proven work experience as a Senior Finance Officer in a similar supervisory transactional role.
* At least 5 years' practical experience in an accounting or financial environment, including 2 years' in a supervisory position.
* Ability to lead, manage and develop a team, so that all team members are motivated, and have the necessary skills, behaviours and resources to meet customer demand.
* Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
* Proven ability to manage processes to update financial records efficiently and within timescales with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Hands-on experience with spreadsheets, accounting, and housing management software, experience using MS Office suite products, in particular Excel and Word.
* A strong communicator, with good verbal and written communication skills, comfortable engaging directly with colleagues in the business to resolve queries
