As the Senior Finance Business Partner within the UK Finance team, you will collaborate with the Commercial Finance Director and fellow Finance Business Partners. Key responsibilities include financial management of projects, bid reviews, forecasting, and reconciliation of demand and supply. Taking a lead role in the budget process, you will forge relationships with the UK Financial Controlling and Compliance team, PMO, Commercial, and other support teams. Specific responsibilities include:
- Managing the largest UK contract in collaboration with the Commercial Finance Director
- Participation in Bid Reviews and monthly Summary Project Reviews
- Oversight of overhead forecasting for the UK, conducting regular reviews with Budget holders
- Collaboration with the Financial Controlling and Compliance team for accurate actuals and forecasts
Our office is based in Bath, and we welcome exploration of flexible and hybrid working arrangements. Travel to customer sites or meetings may be required.
About you
The ideal candidate will:
- Possess a degree-level education
- Be a qualified member of an accountancy body or holder of an equivalent qualification
- Demonstrate significant experience in Project Accounting and financial management of long-term contracts, preferably in defence or engineering
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication, emotional intelligence, diplomacy, tact, influencing, and negotiating skills
- Be a strategic and logical thinker, aligned with BMT's unique ethos as an employee benefit trust
- Embrace a team player role within the BMT finance team
- Understand the multifaceted responsibilities of a Finance Director, including storytelling, co-piloting, magistracy, consigliore, engineering, muse, or rescue service.
