Senior Field Service & Commissioning Engineer – Carbon Capture
We are looking for a Senior Field Service & Commissioning Engineer to take on a customer-facing role, travelling extensively globally at customer sites to carry out Commissioning & Service activities of our new technology.

This hands-on role requires dynamic and innovative field commissioning and servicing experience.
Based in the Midlands or South of the UK, the candidate will have significant global onshore field commissioning, diagnostic, troubleshooting and service and repair experience, particularly with Industrial Capital Equipment.
Reporting to the Projects & Process Manager, you will be part of a team that delivers:
Contract Installation on any given Carbon8 project.
Project planning, cost management, and mobilisation before arriving on site.
The installation and commissioning of plants while at the site for up to 6 weeks, depending on the site’s location.
Management of site H&S risk assessments.
System experimental development assessments and tests on site.
The Senior Commissioning Engineer’s responsibilities include, but are not restricted to:
Successful delivery of complex on-site commissioning of capital equipment.
Responsible for the safe installation of projects, which includes carrying out commissioning through to client handover.
Fault diagnosis and resolution of all Carbon8 equipment.
Regular formal and informal communication with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders.
Responsible for compliance with H&S in cooperation with the Project and Process Manager, Commercial Manager, and appropriate persons whilst on the client site.
Writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for installation, commissioning, and maintenance in time for client handover.
Coach and train all direct reports on Carbon8 procedures to ensure complete compliance.
The identification – and implementation – of improvements in the Company’s processes and procedures, engaging regularly in continuous improvement.
Technical support to other junior engineers. Solving technical issues on site. Supporting the Projects & Process Manager with a practical solution and on-site execution plan.
Demonstrate safety consciousness and behaviour, and adapt safely to dynamic and unique situations encountered at diverse work sites globally.
Provide timely, detailed, and accurate site reports on completed activity and results, product performance, warranty liabilities, company expense, and time allocation.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate some or all of the following skills and qualities:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience commissioning and/or servicing capital equipment on industrial industry client sites in multiple countries.
2 years’ experience working independently, i.e. without local oversight management.
HNC / HND in Electrical / Electronic / Mechanical Engineering or a related subject.
who do not hold a degree in electrical, mechanical or electronic engineering will also be considered where they:
a relevant electrical and/or mechanical maintenance or engineering qualification at Higher National Diploma level or above.
demonstrate ongoing professional development/learning over multiple years.
a high degree of relevant experience in electrical or mechanical engineering and / or maintenance on a COMAH facility, meeting the experience requirements set out above.
Ability to understand and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings,
Provide first-class on-site service to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and loyalty. Understand customer needs, communicate effectively, and serve as a representative of the company.
Computer literate, including use of MS and Linux systems.
Must be able to demonstrate fault-finding skills.
Strong communication skills and excellent teamwork coupled with being able to work independently and under pressure.
The candidate must be comfortable undertaking global travel and deployments as the normal —up to 75% of the working year.
Must have a UK or European passport (with leave-to-remain status).
Must have a Full UK driving licence (maximum 3 points/no disqualifications).
