Senior Estimator - General Main Contractor

Location: North London
Salary: £75,000 + package

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator for our client in the education sector. As a Senior Estimator specialising in the education sector, you will play a pivotal role in analysing project requirements, preparing accurate cost estimates, and contributing to the successful execution of construction projects in this domain.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with project management and engineering teams to understand project specifications and requirements.
Conduct a comprehensive analysis of project documents, blueprints, and drawings to determine materials, labour, and equipment costs.
Prepare detailed cost estimates, including direct and indirect costs, using industry-standard estimation software and methodologies.
Source and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
Evaluate project risks and opportunities and provide recommendations to optimize cost efficiency and project viability.
Participate in bid reviews and presentations, demonstrating expertise and insights into the education sector.
Foster strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives and expectations.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimation, with a focus on the education sector preferred.
Proficiency in construction estimation software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or equivalent.
Strong understanding of construction methodologies, building codes, and regulations.
Excellent analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
Proven track record of successfully estimating and managing projects within budgetary constraints.
