Kier Infrastructure Major Projects - Senior Estimator (Civils)
Kier Infrastructure Major Projects are currently recruiting for a Senior Estimator (Civils) to maximise the commercial position of Kier whilst securing opportunities in line with our Business Plan objectives. In this exciting role, you'll be part of the Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks Pre-construction team, engaged on pricing projects from £5m to £500+m in value in the water and nuclear sectors to meet and exceed client requirements. You'll manage all aspects of the estimating process, from receipt of documents to presentation of the price at review and preparation of submission documents.
Location: Remote working with a base at Maple Cross, Herts or other Kier main office
Contract: Permanent, Full time, flexible work options possible upon discussion
Responsibilities:
Work closely with bid teams and be responsible for the preparation of the pricing/analytical estimate.
Preparation of preliminaries (On-cost) pricing (In conjunction with Tender Planner).
Presentation of the estimate at bid team meetings and final settlement of bid.
Working to strict deadlines.
Experience of pricing work under various forms of contract including Traditional NEC, Target Cost, Design & Build, Specification & Drawing or ECI bids.
Preparation of quantities from drawings and specifications, working with recognised methods of measurement, such as CESMM and MMHW.
What are we looking for? This role of Senior Estimator is great for you if:
Ideally degree/HNC qualified in a construction or civil engineering related subject.
5+ Years experience working as an Estimator for a major civil engineering contractor.
Experience of pricing in the water and nuclear sectors would be an advantage.
Ability to manage administrative support and other members of the team to ensure the successful undertaking of the tender.
Have good commercial awareness with a knowledge of various Forms of Contract, NEC, ICE, IChemE.
