Job Role: Senior Estimator- Groundworks



Salary: �40,000-�60,000 dependant on experience



Job type: Full time, permanent

Introduction:



We are seeking a talented individual for the role of Senior Estimator to oversee the entire estimating and tendering process for our division.





Day To Day Responsibilities:




  • Manage all aspects of estimating and tendering for Groundworks and Civil Engineering projects, primarily in Housing/Commercial and Industrial sectors.

  • Oversee projects from tender stage to completion and final accounts.

  • Measure and value work accurately.

  • Allocate labour, plant, and procure materials effectively.

  • Maintain control of procurement and labour, including subcontractors, ensuring professionalism and cost-effectiveness.

  • Act as a key liaison between the production team and clients, conveying project specifics and requirements.

  • Collaborate with client commercial teams and attend site meetings as necessary.

  • Prepare and assess subcontract enquiries and quotations.

  • Identify and manage contract variations.

  • Prepare and submit project invoices and final accounts.

  • Cultivate and sustain relationships with clients and project stakeholders.

  • Actively pursue new tender opportunities as part of business development efforts.







Requirements:




  • Expertise in quantity surveying and estimating for Groundworks and Civil Engineering projects, particularly in large-scale Housing developments.

  • Team-oriented approach to delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.

  • Proficiency in various forms of contracts, especially the JCT contract range.

  • Experience with estimating software and documentation such as Excel, Adobe, and Bluebeam.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail in commercial documentation.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

  • Capacity to handle external and internal demands promptly.

  • Demonstrated commercial acumen.
