Join the Systems Integration team based in Bristol as a Senior Environmental Engineer and help us to achieve our mission of pioneering electric aviation. What will you be doing? As a Senior Environmental Engineer you will have full ownership of environmental based requirements and strategies at aircraft level and you will be acting a technical expert for DO160 related topics, in particular but not limited to lightning, EMI, ESD, and fire.You will be validating customer operating environmental requirements through analysis of customer markets as well as validating deviations/alternate means of compliances with industry standards and regulations.You will be working closely with a variety of engineering teams and with both in-house and external suppliers. In your role you will be supporting the aircraft level systems engineering team with requirements capture, V&V planning, and test execution and supporting the safety team with safety analyses and deliverables, in particular PRAs related to DO160 topics.You will report to the IPT Lead – Systems and Safety and be a key member of the Systems Integration team, supporting the continued development of our in-house expertise, specialist knowledge and capabilities. What would we like you to bring. We want you to be successful in your role and so in order to achieve this, you will need to have proven experience in high level aircraft design and aircraft systems and in certifying to aerospace standards, and exposure to DO-160 and ARP4754/4761 would be beneficial.You will have the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and thrive in a complex aircraft development environment, where managing multiple priorities concurrently is the norm. Experience of working in a highly regulated environment on safety critical systems is essential.A spectrum of technical competencies is required, including expertise in aircraft level and system level environmental testing as well as knowledge of lightning protection, fire protection, EMI, HIRF, and ESD. Experience adapting DO-160 in experimental and certification programmes is preferred.
