Senior Engineering Manager Space Tech (Tax free & based in GCC)

Position Overview:
You will be responsible for a technical team, overseeing the development of components within the Skywaves project (embedded with the aircraft client, mixed with ground session management, or cloud-based including client portal, real-time monitoring tools…). It's important to note that the assigned team may be located across multiple sites with different time zones (France, abroad, full remote). We provide excellent training opportunities and exposure to the latest technology stack. Depending on requirements, we offer an opportunity to attend industry relevant conferences.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily team management (motivation, individual meetings, conflict resolution, understanding expectations, managing leaves…)
Ensuring the application of established work methods with the CTO (Daily, Retro, Demo…) and VP of Engineering
Team animation and team-building activities
Handling recruitment processes (liaising with headhunters, tracking, conducting interviews…)
Organize and plan the team's roadmap in alignment with the Company's Roadmap
Coordinate with other Technical Managers on cross-functional tasks
Manage tasks assigned to internal or external teams (outsourcing / subcontracting)
Monitor team performance (velocity & productivity)
Provide reports to the VP on progress, roadblocks, and schedule evolution
Ensure the quality of deliverables produced by the team
Ensure proper documentation is created
Manage on-call periods and potential on-site interventions
Monitor Level 2 Maintenance and Support requests within the team's scope
Occasionally, you have to participate in sales activities (workshops, exhibitions, prospect meetings)
The international dimension is significant, and you may occasionally travel abroad
You should have a good level of business English to engage in discussions with partners or clients independently
You will have regular telephone and email communications with the company's clients and partners
Qualifications:
With a BAC +3 / +5 degree, you have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a technical project manager. You have previously overseen cross-functional development teams (Front / Back / System). Previous experience in running a DevOps Team or as a senior developer will be highly preferable. Mastery of management, especially in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban). Ability to handle complex human or technical situations. Strong communication skills. Autonomy and proactivity. Knowledge of web environments (Symfony, php, HTML, Javascript). Familiarity with Linux (Ubuntu). Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS). English: Very proficient level, including phone conversations and leading meetings (CEFR C1 / TOEFL iBT 95).
Additional Assets:
For this position, the following are considered significant advantages: Previous experience in the aerospace industry. Previous experience at a connectivity provider or satellite supplier
